The recipient of the Yuva Ratna Award burst on to the Indian fashion scene in a memorable way in the late eighties. Rina Dhaka designs for women who see themselves as modern and confident. Being retailed at places as varied as Kimaya and Selfridges and being featured by Marie Claire and Vanity Fair, her collections are worn by the likes of Uma Thurman, Naomi Campbell and Diana Hayden.
This season is dramatic, draws out from the ancient, vintage style of embroidery creating mirror work pattern. For the spring '09 collection the designer has used flashy colours with experimental dyeing and prints to create a new hippy style.
