Hundreds of male models put their best foot forward to walk the runway for some of the leading lights of the mens' fashion industry in the soon to be organized Van Heusen India Mens Week.

The Delhi leg of the male model auditions was kick started on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at The Grand, Vasant Kunj.  Aspiring applicants had to meet selection criteria of 5 feet 11 inches and above. The Mumbai auditions will be conducted on July 13.

The jury members who've been designated the crucial task of choosing the final models and the future stars of the Indian ramp included Mandira Bedi, Rahul Dev, Rohit Bal, Manoviraj Khosla, Varun Bahl, Rohit Gandhi, Anjana Bhargav and model Nayanika Chatterjee.

The esteemed jury members selected models on several attributes, such as their confidence, attitude and physique. "What we’re essentially looking for in our models is the ability to carry every piece of clothing with the right attitude. It's the inherent individualistic attitude that accounts for a major difference between a great model and an amateur," said actor Rahul Dev.

Buoyed by the success of the first edition, Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has scheduled the second edition of the Van Heusen India Mens Week from August 27 to 29 at The Grand, New Delhi.
