Fed up with scorching summer? Follow these tips to take care of your skin and health this summer and keep yourself healthy and fit:
Daily application of sunscreen is very important before you go out in the sun and re-apply it in every two hours. Using a sunscreen according to the skin type protects it from damaging and keeps the moisture level in control.
Cover yourself as much as possible from exposing direct to the sun. Use a long-sleeved shirt, umbrella and sunglasses to protect yourself from sun exposure.
Sun heat, dirt and sweat increase the amount of dead skin cells, which build up on your face and body. Get rid of these with an exfoliating scrub or loofah a few times every week.
Use light water based moisturiser and sunscreens for both face and body.
Avoid creamy based makeup and apply natural looking glow. Use liquid foundation for a lighter, mineral-based powder with a minimum SPF of 15.
Do not shave or use razor often on your skin. Try using moisturising shaving creams and gels to remove those unwanted hair.
During hot weather, your body can get dehydrated quickly. Drink plenty of water and eat seasonal fruits to keep your body cool and your skin hydrated.
Eat light, nutritious, non-fatty and low-salt meals. Prefer nimbu pani, lassi, green tea or coconut water to aerated drinks, coffee and normal tea.
Do exercise and yoga to keep yourself active. Choose the cooler times of the day like early morning or evening to exercise. Wear clothes that fit loosely and are light in color. Cottons and linen are preferable since they allow the skin to dry faster.
